The Red Barn Challenge 6-12-24H, running on October 1st in Lykens, PA is 99% Full

Vermont:

Runamuck 50k slated for October 17th in Windsor, VT at 92% full for the Sunday race, 90% for Saturday.

Results & Voices

Deerfly 5k / 10k in the Winona Forest of Mannsville, NY with a fast 5k, and a pretty adventurous 10k with off-trail sections, steeps, and stream crossings. In their 4th year, records fell with the top two women and men, Kelly Macdonald and Lauren Wetterhahn, and Luke Tighe and George Young, under the prior course record in the 10k. In the 5k, Eric Hulbert took the overall win with Lena Turaj for the women. Cueing us in to Deerfly is women’s winner Kelly Macdonald.

The Hyner Half in North Bend, PA

Of 126 finishers in this PA Trail Dogs event, the overall win went to Mark Puleo in 2:03 for the men, and Katie Sick for the women in 2:17. Weighing in this week to cue us in to the Hyner Half is men’s winner Mark Puleo.

Backyard Squatch Ultra in Branchville, NJ

Kim and the Sassquad Trail Running crew pout on another trail party this past weekend with the Backyard Squatch Ultra. Scott Snell was the last standing with a pretty incredible 150 miles, with Justin Kousky and Jim McCaffrey bowing out at 146 and 104 respectively. Last woman standing was Angelica Lerro with 62.5 miles covered. Here to cue us into the Backyard Squatch was the second loser, Jimmy McCaffrey.

Mine Hill Half Marathon in Roxbury, CT ran. Another Steep Endurance Production. Of 73 finishers Aaron Heath took the overall win in 1:20 with top women’s slot going to Brittany Telke in 1:35.

A new world 24 hour record. Sania Sorokin ran 191.92 miles in 2:55:26, beating Kouros’s 188.68 mile world record that stood since 1997
